Volunteer of the year

Marie Arsenault

This year, we are proud to award the Volunteer of the Year award to a person greatly deserving of this honor.

This person has been very involved in the Acadian and Francophone community for several years. Not once have we contacted her for anything and she said no. She always answers yes with pleasure. Whether it's selling tickets, working in the kitchen, teaching dance, and many other things. We always appreciate her good humor, she is always ready to make us laugh.

This person grew up in St. Edward with 11 siblings. She then spent time in Pleasant View and later moved to Kitchener, Ontario and New Brunswick. Eventually she settled back into the West Prince community first in St. Louis and now in a beautiful apartment in Tignish.   This nice lady has 2 children, 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

In addition to being a very committed member of le club des coeurs joyeux, she is also a member of the Miminegash Firemenette. In addition to being very involved in the community where she volunteers several hours at Bingo, Chase the Ace, Miminegash Days, she also teaches line dancing. Every time we find her doing volunteer work, she always has a beautiful smile.

Even this evening, we contacted her because we needed people in the room for the quorum of the meeting or we had to cancel, she said yes no problem, I will cancel my Bingo.

She has several favorite hobbies. As mentioned before, she loves line dancing and we appreciate that she has already shared her talent with le club des coeurs joyeux. She enjoys going to Bingo, participating in Le Club des coeurs joyeux activities, she enjoys going for walks, doing community school activities but we think her favorite pastime is waiting at Profits to meet her sisters to go shop in town.

So, you probably guessed it, this year we are proud to be able to award the volunteer of the year award to Madame Marie Arsenault.

A big thank you to you Marie for your dedication to the Acadian and Francophone community of West Prince. We greatly appreciate you!!!
